Language teaching

Al Jabr International School has committed to the development of intensive English language learning for its students. This initiative allows students to advance towards bilingualism and pursue an international English section in high school.

It continues the AIS lessons introduced in primary school. Additionally, any student from another system with a sufficient level of English, validated by the teaching staff, can join the curriculum at collège.

Les choix de l’AIS font que les langues française, anglaise et arabe sont enseignées dans des volumes horaires très proches permettant un multilinguisme réel et vécu au quotidien.

In order to continue the teaching implemented at AIS primary level, students will continue to learn art and music in English. To reinforce these non-linguistic disciplines in English, physical education and sports are also taught in English. In addition, English (written and oral language learning) will be taught for 3 hours a week, plus one hour of English literature from 4ème .

Dès la 6e, les élèves suivent une heure d’anglais scientifiqueStarting in 6ème, students will take one hour of Scientific English. This hour will introduce students to a field of scientific lexis that is not covered in the usual practice of the language, and will pave the way for a field that is crucial for anyone pursuing studies in science.

All Arabic-speaking students in collège receive 5 hours of Arabic language lessons and 2 hours of history-geography lessons taught in Arabic. Non-Arabic-speaking pupils, or those who have obtained an exemption in primary school, receive 2.5 hours of Arabic lessons per week.

A partir de la 5e, en fonction des capacités de l’élève, l’enseignement d’une troisième langue est proposé avec au choix l’espagnol ou l’allemand à raison de deux heures par semaines.
